While we have had mixed feelings about Twitter in the past, we’re working with a client on a super simple news feed system (wanting to avoid a blog or full news system) and we realised that Twitter would be ideal. With that in mind FoxLand has finally climbed on board, as have Christian, Calum and Andrew.

Finally, well over a month after the fire, we’ve made it back into the office. During our exile we’ve been based all over the capital, from the faraway wilds of Bounds Green and Brixton to the cosmopolitan chic of Ladbroke Grove and Brick Lane. But we’re now finally pleased to be all reunited and back in Hampstead. The office looks better than ever – it has been crisply repainted, has a spanking new floor and does not smell of acrid plastic soot. Our local coffee and sandwich providers are thrilled that their economy will be revived by our return. Many thanks to all of our friends, colleagues and clients who have been concerned for our health and well being. We are delighted to say that normal service has now been resumed.

On Monday morning at 3.20am I was woken by the Fire Brigade – there had been a fire in our Hampstead office. While none of our work has been destroyed there is a lot of debris and soot everywhere. Therefore, there has been a couple of days of slight disruption and we have moved into temporary office space in Bounds Green. Happily yesterday’s earthquake did not destroy the new place. Just so you know, we are now fully back to work and the disturbance has been minimal.

We’re pleased to announce the launch of Global DataPoint’s corporate website. Global DataPoint are the supplier of the most comprehensive events database in the UK, and are now expanding their operations to data feeds of international arts events. This is the third element of our ongoing work with the company - the first being an overhaul of their brand, and the second being an overhaul of their event search user interface (screenshots of which can be seen around the site). We have developed the site from the ground up from initial design concepts through to a full CMS backend. Many thanks to everyone who has been involved in putting it together.

This week saw the launch of the CIH Conference and Housing Exhibition site we created for the Chartered Institute of Housing. The event - taking place in Harrogate next June - boasts a strong line-up of speakers, including Rt. Hon. Michael Portillo, Diane Abbott MP, David Smith – Economics Editor of the Sunday Times and leading US Economist David Shepherdson.
The CIH is the professional body for people working in housing across the UK and its conference and exhibition is the UK’s ultimate housing event. With Gordon Brown announcing an £8bn investment in housing in his first spending review, the conference will look at how the sector can deliver the government’s objective of decent and affordable housing for all.
Working closely with our partners at Zebra Crossing, the site was built using WordPress and includes online booking functionality. More exciting functionality will be added to the site as the event draws closer - so watch this space!

We are pleased to announce that the updated Dragon Brands website we have been working on recently has now gone live. While we worked on their last version, it was hamstrung by legacy systems and databases. Working closely with the design team at Dragon we have developed a flexible, but simple, content-managed system that kept the distinctive ‘letterbox’ design.

We’re extremely pleased to announce that Christian Nolle, a web designer, joined us on the 8th October at FoxLand. Hailing from the kingdom of Denmark he has worked on a number of websites primarily for photographers, artists and small organisations such as Centre des l’ivres d’artistes (an artist book centre), University College of the Creative Arts, David Moore (photographer), Oreet Ashery (performance artist), Emmanuelle Waeckerle (artist) and Jens Walter Linder (sculpture and painting). On Christian’s personal website you can discover more about his photography and art work. He has a great clean visual design style and is obsessed by the latest and greatest web technologies, great XHTML/CSS coding, Textpattern, a passion to learn, and… aeroplanes.

We’re currently using the 37 Signals Job Board in our continuing search for a Junior Web Designer. This is what we said:
FoxLand is an emerging brand and user-centred design agency based in London. We are seeking an ambitious junior web designer to bolster our creative team. You will have excellent design skills, be adept at CSS and XHTML (and comprehend Flash) and have a near obsession with current web and design trends. You must be happy to work as part of a team, be comfortable in front of clients and be willing to roll up your sleeves and help with everything. In return we are offering an ideal environment for you to develop your skills and experience on exciting projects and will actively encourage you to do so.
We are delighted that one of our clients, world leading search marketing agency Latitude, had a successful launch of their updated search engine optimisation product recently - Latitude Organic.
Working closely with Latitude’s marketing team we developed the logo and brand for Latitude Organic, along with the design for the website and some additional marketing collateral.
Getting a website to naturally appear in the top rankings of search engine listings is an extremely difficult and time-consuming discipline. However, it’s a discipline that Latitude’s team of experts seem to excel at.
Our challenge was to design a logo and website for Latitude Organic that successfully communicates this expertise. We therefore developed something that was both natural looking with a human focus and that suggests a positive upward movement - in line with the service Latitude Organic offers for its customers.

TPdb (Targeted Proteins Database) is a project we have been working on since September 2006 and we are finally able to begin to reveal some of its features and design. The first fruit of our work is a marketing tool, called “What is TPdb?”. It includes various screenshots of the application’s interface, as well as descriptions of what it does and how.

The new look Faculty of 1000 Medicine marketing site we designed was launched last week. This saw the completion of the first phase of the F1000 website rebrand and redesign project we are working on. F1000 Medicine is an innovative database application that evaluates influential medical papers using a 2500-strong ‘faculty’ of the world’s top international researchers and clinicians. We are now working on the next phase of the project which involves a redesign of the look and functionality of the application itself.
